Postgraduate Online course

Enrolments are accepted on the following basis:

1. That you have read the prospectus on the web or in print format and understand how the course is structured, the topics that the course covers and what is required by way of work to complete the course satisfactorily.

2. Following receipt of your completed registration form the LSJ will confirm in writing within 7 days if it is able to offer you a place. If you receive an offer of a place, 50% of the course fees due must be received by the LSJ within 14 days of the offer. The offer of a place forms a contract between the student and the LSJ. You may pay either 50% of the full course fee (£1475.00) or 50% of the first module fee (£425.00) and confirmation of your place will be issued upon receipt. Payment may be made by cheque, draft, debit card or credit card. The balance of course fees due must be received 14 days before the start date of your course, or your place may be allocated to a waiting-list applicant.

If we are not able to offer you a place, for whatever reason, any fees paid will be refunded. If you do not make payment within the 14 day period your place may be allocated to another applicant.

3. If you choose to pay for each module as it falls due you must ensure that payment for the second, third and fourth module is received at least 14 days before that module is due to start. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in your place being forfeit.

4. The LSJ reserves the right to refuse any application without having to justify or give reasons for its decision.

5. You understand that if you cancel after having registered, your registration fee of £100.00 will not be refunded. If you wish to cancel after paying all or part of the course fees, you must notify us in writing as soon as possible. Cancellations made up until 28 days before the commencement date of the course will receive a full refund of the Course fees already paid. Cancellations made after 28 days but more than 7 days before the course starts will receive a refund of 50% of the fees already paid. Cancellations made within 7 days of the course start date will not receive a refund of the fees already paid.

6. If you withdraw from the course after commencement you will lose all the fees you have paid, except where, within 28 days of that date, a written application for deferral is received and approved by the course tutor. Students may make one deferral only for any given module. In cases of deferral there is no option of cancellation prior to the commencement of the next module.

7. All course material and lecture transcripts are the copyright of the LSJ and are intended for use by the enrolled student only. No material may be copied in whole or part for use by anyone other than the registered student.

8. In the unlikely event of delays in submitting your work being caused by technical problems outside of your control, you will not be penalised, and additional time allowed where necessary.

9. Returning a completed application form and receiving an offer of a place constitutes a firm contract with The London School of Journalism. The payment of a deposit reserves your place on the course, but this reservation will be lost if the balance of fees due is not received by The London School of Journalism by the date stated on your application form or, if no date is specified, at least fourteen days before your course is due to start.

10. Course fees are refundable only as follows: Cancellations made 45 days or more prior to course commencement will suffer a charge of 15% of the total course fee; cancellations made less than 45 days but more than 30 days before course commencement will suffer a charge of 50% of the total course fee. If less than 30 days' notice is given, and the course has not started, no refunds will be made in respect of cancellations. The LSJ may at its absolute discretion make refunds of fees in other circumstances or allow fees to be carried forward against a different course.

11. Once a course has commenced the full fees are due regardless of whether or not a student fails to complete the course.

12. All course notes are supplied by The London School of Journalism Ltd. LSJ Tutors Ltd. are responsible for providing all tuition, course administration and student support. The quoted fee for any individual course covers the full cost of the provision of both services.

13. In the event of unforeseen circumstances this course may be cancelled by the LSJ, in which case full refunds of all fees already paid will be made.
