LSJ

LONDON SCHOOL OF JOURNALISM

Why do students choose to take our courses?

The largest single reason is 'word of mouth' recommendations - from within the industry and from our students, past and present - and because the quality of our courses and the skill of our tutors has been established for over 80 years.

"Our intern program allows students to take part in the workings of our largest bureau outside the US, with responsibilities for both production and newscasting. Students from the LSJ consistently demonstrate a good grasp of the practical skills and requirements, and obviously have been taught what is needed to be successful journalists."
CNN Tony Maddox   Managing Director   CNN International
Atlanta.

Recent journalism students have found jobs with many different organisations including: CNN, BBC, Channel 4, Sky TV, GMTV, Illumina TV, LBC, Capital Radio, The Times, AP, Independent on Sunday, Kentish Times, Bristol Evening Post, The Irish Times and The Electronic Telegraph amongst others - you can see more information here.

Freelance students have had articles and features published in hundreds of different publications worldwide and many of our creative writers and poets have also enjoyed success this year, winning competitions and having their writing published.

Many of our distance learning students are already employed and use the knowledge gained from their courses to enhance their existing career and to increase their future prospects. A significant proportion are looking to develop either an alternative or an additional career using the writing skills they learn.

The LSJ has provided in-house training in news journalism, feature writing, subediting and page design (via distance learning) for journalists at the Warsaw Business Journal (part of Poland's leading English language newspaper group) WBJ
Antenna1 Antenna1 is the largest commercial TV Station in Greece, with subsidiaries broadcasting all over the world. The syllabus and quality of its in-house English language journalism training school was set and validated by the LSJ.
